Tim Atkin’s South Africa 2019 Special Report
September 6, 2019
We at Fryer’s Cove are proud to announce our awards results from this year’s much-anticipated Tim Atkin South Africa Special Report, now in its seventh year. This is one of the most thorough reports on the South African wine industry, and serves as a barometer of the state of the industry and the quality of its offerings.
“I remain as enthusiastic and positive as ever about the South African wine scene. The sector has many problems (which I discuss in the report), but I’m still convinced that the best Cape wines are world class and represent outstanding value for money. Ever creative, ever evolving, the wine industry continues to surprise and delight me. I tasted wines from at least 20 new producers this year and the quality was mostly good to excellent.” – Tim Atkin
We could not be more delighted that two of our wines were awarded Medals of Excellence. Our Bamboes Bay Pinot Noir 2017 scored 90 and Bamboes Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2017 scored 94.
We are happy that the quality of our wines was acknowledged by the Tim Atkin report, and we wish to congratulate our team on their hard work.
